Solve For X: Curriculum Development
Working in coordination with my high school’s faculty, I helped develop and expand continuing curriculum on solving community issues.
March 2023 & March 2024
Background:
My idea of expanding Solve for X’s curriculum originated in my U.S. history class. Throughout that class, my inner dialogue focused around the question, “how can we learn about our future?” Thus the seed for my thirst for forward thinking learning began.
Throughout weekly meetings with my U.S. History teacher, the Solve for X Faculty Organizer, we iterated over differing curriculums. Despite first feeling like a deer in headlights, my teacher gave me autonomy within development, building off of my ideas and plans.

Development:
In order to guide my developmental ideas, I reached out to social entrepreneurs to gain insight from their journeys. Ensuring I wasn’t just sampling the dependent variable within successful startups, I asked these entrepreneurs about their triumphs and failures, positive and negative advice, and future predictions.
Previously, Solve for X was a singular day afternoon endeavor. Through my interviews and in depth research, I was able to help develop and establish an expanded two day curriculum still in practice today.
